Standard power chairs are covered by most insurance companies. Medicare has recently changed payment for standard power equipment. These devices are now a capped rental item. This means Medicare rents the chair for 13 months, and then it is considered purchased. Medicare and most insurance companies pay for these devices if needed to accomplish Activities of Daily Living in the home.
